WandaVision star Teyonah Parris has hinted at the show’s “epic and incredibly sad” ending.
With the show dropping its third from last episode today (19 February), fans are looking ahead to the forthcoming finale, which is set to air on Disney Plus in two weeks (5 March).
Parris – who stars as Monica Rambeau – has offered a clue as to what viewers can expect.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor remained tight lipped about any details but did tell the publication her thoughts when she first read the series’ ending.
“Epic and incredibly sad. I mean, the whole show is incredibly sad to me but I’m putting those words together,” she said.
For much of the season, viewers have been left in the dark as to the exact nature of the characters’ altered reality, with the primary suggestion being that it was created by Wanda as a reaction to the grief over Vision’s death in Avengers: Infinity War.
Speaking about the show’s premise and Wanda’s motivations, Parris said: “Once Monica sees Wanda and realises that she’s grieving, she recognises their parallel experiences and that they’re both grieving loved ones.”
“So I think Monica is handling [her grief] in the best way she can,” said the actor.
“I’m not saying it’s the most effective and most therapeutic way but I do feel like she is trying to reconcile with her own grief by helping Wanda with hers.”
WandaVision will air its final two episodes on Disney Plus on 26 February and 5 March respectively.
