This Week on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE: Sean Murphy’s Batman: Curse of the White Knight Begins
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

It’s April, and spring brings with it a sense of new beginnings. Just as last week marked opening day for the 2021 baseball season, this week sees both the start of a major new series added to DC UNIVERSE INFINITE (Batman: Curse of the White Knight) and the end of a few more (including Injustice: Year Zero). Let’s take a look at what’s new on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE and the latest fun in the DC Community!

DC Digital First Comics

It’s finales all over the place this week on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, starting with Injustice: Year Zero #14 by Tom Taylor and Rogê Antônio. The prequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us closes by showing us the aftermath of the Hall of Justice’s destruction and the final fate of the Justice Society of America. Batman: The Adventures Continue reaches the finish line with the holiday-themed #17 by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini and Ty Templeton—but don’t fret, Season Two is coming later this year. Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace #23 is also the end of the digital-first Wonder Woman anthology, which goes out with a bang with “Hunting Ground,” co-starring the Cheetah and written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Neil Edwards. (Wonder Woman fans, stay tuned for the new digital first anthology series Sensational Wonder Woman to hit DC UNIVERSE INFINITE starting next week!)

Injustice: Year Zero #14 – 4/7/2021
Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace #23 – 4/8/2021
Batman: The Adventures Continue #17 – 4/9/2021
Challenge of the Super Sons #4 – 4/12/2021

New Comics

Sean Murphy wowed fans in 2017 and 2018 with Batman: White Knight, the writer/artist’s bold reinvention of the Batman mythos that cast the Joker—seemingly reformed—as a hero, taking on who he saw as Gotham City’s true villain: the Batman. This week, Murphy’s sequel Batman: Curse of the White Knight debuts on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE with issue #1 of the eight-issue DC Black Label series, which sees the Joker forming an unholy alliance with Azrael to expose a shocking Wayne family secret. Elsewhere on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, see how the repercussions of “The Joker War” are felt across Gotham in Batman: The Joker War Zone #1, a one-shot starring characters including Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown and Luke Fox—with the latter starring in a story written by The Next Batman: Second Son scribe John Ridley and illustrated by comics superstar Olivier Coipel. Plus, Dark Nights: Death Metal Multiverse’s End #1 sees James Tynion IV and Juan Gedeon recruit the most unlikely team in the existence—we’re talking Owlman, President Superman, Iris West, Captain Carrot and Guy Gardner—for one last stand against Perpetua, with all of reality at stake.
