Due to the pandemic, its no secret that we have been in a drought when it comes to new releases of movies. Shazam! Fury of the Gods, is no exception-with its start date being pushed back to Summer of 2023. Mark Strong, who played the villain Dr. Sivana was just recently interviewed, revealing that he knows very little about the new script and movie. He goes on to say:
“I had such a great time on the first one and it turned out to be such a success. I’m just waiting to hear,” Strong told Collider. “I think the script is in development and they’re trying to get ready to do it. Obviously, it’s been interrupted by this pandemic, so things are on hold until such time as it can be filmed safely. At the moment, it’s all under wraps. I honestly know very little about it. It’s not that I don’t want to tell you anything about it. It’s just that I don’t actually know very much about it.”
David Sandberg will return to direct the sequel, along with Asher Angel again playing Billy Batson. As far as we know, the actors and actresses that played his foster family will presume their roles as well.
