More Avengers films are likely coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to the studio’s boss.

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, was recently asked by IGN whether Marvel will ever release more Avengers movies, taking place after the events depicted in the 2019 Avengers: Endgame.

“I would have to think so. I would have to say yes, at some point,” Feige told the publication.

He jokingly added: “It’s a good title. Could use that.”

Released in 2019, Avengers: Endgame  has become the highest-grossing movie of all time. It brought to an end the Infinity Saga, itself comprised of the MCU’s first three phases.

There have been four Avengers films so far: The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015),  Avengers: Infinity War  (2018), and Endgame.

Phase Four of the MCU is expected to feature several standalone films, including Black Widow, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a Black Panther sequel, and Thor: Love and Thunder.  The release schedule for Phase Four has had to shift due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The phase will also include several TV series, all coming to Disney+. The first, WandaVision, will begin airing on 15 January 2021.

It features Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision. The series takes place after Avengers: Endgame, as the two protagonists live – or try to live – “idealised suburban lives”.

WandaVision will be the first programme released as part of Phase Four of the MCU. Phase Four is so far not expected to include any Avengers film.
