Kevin Feige Confirms Episode Counts for ‘She-Hulk’, ‘Moon Knight’, and ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’

Episode counts get tricky for any series. The quality of some of the Marvel-Netflix shows was undeniably affected by the ironclad 13-episode length so it’s cool to see that Marvel Studios is avoiding that with their first venture into streaming television by keeping them concise and short. Kevin Feige revealed in an interview with Collider that the shows are being developed as 6-hour seasons that will either be split into 6 episodes or 10 half-hour episodes.

Well, we’re looking a little differently. We’re looking at it as developing them as either six hour-episodes, or nine or 10 half-hour episodes. So, for instance, WandaVision started that way and Falcon and the Winter Soldier as 30 minutes, but because it’s streaming, it’s Disney+, and the rules have blurred over the years, yes. Some can be 23 minutes. Some can be much longer than that. But She-Hulk, for instance, is being developed as 10 30-minute episodes. Some will be longer and some will be shorter. Loki, Falcon and the Winter Soldier is being developed as six 40-50-minute episodes.

Not included in the transcript was Feige confirming Moon Knight as one of those 6-episode shows. This is overall fantastic news. As I mentioned above, episode lengths can make or break a show’s quality. The fact that Feige and his crew aren’t slavish to a strict episode count pretty much allows them to tell a story the way they want it, however long it might be. A more concise episode counts allow for a story with a lot less filler.
