You try to be a good host, yet your guests can’t stop trying to kill each other.

Such is the plight of the Green Lantern Corps as the storied army of heroes—along with some new recruits—returns in a forward-minded new series from the creative minds of Geoffrey Thorne (Future State: Green Lantern), Dexter Soy, Marco Santucci and Alex Sinclair. Oa has agreed to play host to the United Planet’s peace conclave, where a diverse array of worlds will attempt to put aside their differences and work together for the good of the galaxy. It’s a noble effort, but it won’t be easy. Some of these worlds were at war with each other up until very recently and old wounds take long to heal. Yet, if anyone has a knack for corralling strong-willed individuals and getting everyone on the same page, it’s John Stewart.

So, why is he the one Lantern who seems uncertain about the whole proposal?

Whatever the reason, John’s fears seem to be well-founded, at least based on this first look at the widely anticipated series. What exactly happened to bring such chaos to the conclave? Why does the captain of the United Planets Brigade seem to blame the Lanterns? And what does the young and unpredictable Keli Quintela—aka Teen Lantern from Young Justice—have to do with it all? Your guess is as good as ours, but if there’s one thing any of us know about the Green Lantern Corps, it’s that they have the will to find out. But what about you? Prove to us that you have ability to overcome whatever great fear you may have of trying out a new creative team and check out our sneak peek!

Green Lantern #1 by Geoffrey Thorne, Dexter Soy, Marco Santucci and Alex Sinclair is available in print and as a digital comic on Tuesday, April 6.
