We just found out that Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro in Spider-Man 3. We didn’t get a confirmation for the version of Electro we will be seeing in Tom Holland’s next MCU film. Since Kevin Feige loves to do his own thing, there’s a major chance that Electro will just be handled in the same way as JK Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson is being currently handled in the MCU. Meaning, Electro will be given a makeover and will look totally different than what Electro did in TASM 2 (expect a more comic accurate look). But if Kevin Feige had to do that, then he could have brought in a new actor. Because he has chosen Jamie Foxx specifically, there’s a major chance that Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 could step into the MCU.
The reason we believe that this could happen is because we’ve heard reports that Doctor Strange 2 could bring in alternate versions of the same characters. Also, Evan Peters is supposed to appear in WandaVision, so there’s a chance that he could be reprising his role as Quicksilver of Fox’s X-Men universe in the MCU. If that happens, then TASM 2’s Electro could also appear in Spider-Man 3, and thus the future of the MCU will be opened up to all sorts of possibilities. Here are 5 major events that could occur because of Electro’s appearance in Spider-Man 3.
Andrew Garfield’s cameo in Spider-Man 3
Since Electro died in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, he probably has to be pulled into the MCU before his demise. And if that happens, then Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man might actually follow him into the MCU. People would lose their minds if they see Holland & Garfield together on screen in their Spider suits.
If Electro is coming in through the Multiverse, then we’re certain that the MCU could connect with Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters through the Multiverse as well. With this, Spider-Man appearing Venom, Blade taking on Morbius, Kraven & the Symbiotes appearing in other MCU movies won’t just become possible, but it will actually become a regular norm.
Tobey Maguire’s cameo in Doctor Strange 2
Since Sam Raimi is directing Doctor Strange 2 and he has to establish the multiverse with this film, we’ve all been speculating that he could bring Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker in for a cameo. Besides Spider-Man 3, Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movies were loved by everyone. So, people would be amazed to see him return just like they’ve liked JK Simmons’ return as J. Jonah Jameson.
Future Spider-verse movie
Electro’s jump into the MCU, Garfield’s appearance in MCU’s Spider-Man 3, the connections with SPUMC, and Tobey Maguire appearing in Doctor Strange 2 could actually set up a live-action Spider-Verse movie in the future. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a major success on the animated front. But, a live-action movie like that could easily be a Billion Dollar venture with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland as the leading men.
X-Men Multiverse Connections
Since MCU’s multiverse could be connecting with the various Spider-Man related universes, it could certainly connect with Fox’s X-Men universe as well. The likes of Deadpool, Cable, Domino & Colossus could step into the MCU using this Multiverse connection. We’ve already stated that Fox’s Quicksilver might be coming to the MCU through WandaVision. But most importantly, Hugh Jackman could make a cameo as Wolverine in the MCU. That would really be the biggest surprise of all.
We’re talking about comic book movies here, so all these events are certainly possible. But there’s a chance that we could be overthinking Electro’s casting within the MCU. Let’s just wait and see what Jamie Foxx ends up doing within the MCU. Spider-Man 3 arrives on December 17, 2021.
